Rakes are shaped like a shaving razor or T-shaped. They consist of one to two rows of tightly spaced pins, or small sharp curved blades. There are two common types-Rake and Undercoat Rake. They both remove the undercoat. Rakes pull out dead and shedding coat; while the Undercoat Rake will cut some of the fur in the process. They are best used for thick and double coats to remove tangles, mats, debris, and loose hair. Use light pressure while using on your dog. Make sure to match pins to coat length when choosing this brush.
